This feelings and sensations wheel includes a comprehensive list of descriptive words to help clients and therapists gain insight and clarity into their experience. It is helpful for teachers, parents, occupational therapists, and somatic practitioners as well as therapists! I've organized the feelings based on neuroscientist Jaak Panksepp's emotional systems. It is helpful to notice where a person hangs out across the emotional spectrum - are they often in the shame or rage area, or do they go to flight frequently? Often we need to work with any protective emotions that come up first before we can move into care or play circuits. This feelings wheel can help you see where you might need to focus your energy to process difficult emotions.
